We’re building a Chicago that is for the people - one that prioritizes our schools, the air we breathe, our mental health, and our communities. Through the People’s Unity Platform, we’ve united with neighborhood and community organizations across Chicago to uplift issues in housing, education, air and environmental quality, community safety, and worker's rights.

Join the People’s Unity Platform for a mayoral candidate forum Thursday, January 26, 2023 at 6pm at New Mount Pilgrim Church (4301 W. Washington). Come hear directly from mayoral candidates about where they stand on issues that you care about most.

Will there be childcare?

Yes, childcare will be provided for children ages 3 to 10 years old. We ask that children older or younger stay with their parent/guardian. Please register for the childcare option here. Once you arrive at the event, please check children in at the registration table.

Is there parking?

There are 2 parking lots (with limited spots) and lots of street parking.  The lots are located (A) across from the church on Kildare avenue; and (B) across from the church on Washington. Street parking is available all around, but most convenient on Washington, Kildare, Kostner, and Madison

Will interpretation be provided?

Yes, we will have both a Spanish and ASL interpreter present at the event.

  • When Spanish speaking members arrive, they can check out interpretation equipment from the registration table.
  • The ASL interpreter will be positioned near the stage. We will reserve an area near the stage to ensure deaf and hard of hearing folks have a direct view of the ASL interpreter.

Where are the accessible entrances?

The main entrance to the church is on Washington Avenue. This entrance has stairs with a total of 20 steps.

There is a wheelchair elevator located around the corner on Kildare Ave about 20 feet away from the main entrance. There will be a volunteer operating the lift.
